Elementary School
Located in the heart of the Wind River Indian Reservation, Wyoming Indian Elementary School serves students from Pre-Kindergarten through 5th Grade. Wyoming Indian Elementary School, formerly known as Mill Creek School, opened in 1957. When the enrollment increased, a classroom addition was built in 1981.
New for school year 2005-06 is the Pre-K classroom. This classroom will take up to 30 students, who are 1 year away from attending Kindergarten, with 2 certified Early Childhood teachers and 1 teacher assistant. The classroom is located in the old administration building.
Enrollment at WIES ranges between 270-290, with most students being either Northern Arapaho or Eastern Shoshone, and class sizes ranging from 10 to 20 students.
