Beginnig of 2008-09 School Year
Before I start in on this document I would like to congratulate the students and staff for making AYP in Math on the PAWS assessment. The hard work put in the last four years has paid off and we are well on our way to another successful school year.
WIES just missed making AYP in the Language Arts area, but I am very confident will do better this year. We have a very good reading/writing program in place, a hard working staff, but most of all we have terrific students to make it all happen.
School starts at WIES on August 18, 2008. Just a few reminders as we start this school year:
1. Make sure that all paperwork is turned into the office, such as: enrollment forms, lunch forms, immunization, etc.
2. Young children need plenty of sleep to be successful in the classroom, please have your children get at least 8 hours of sleep.
3. Little Chiefs Pre-School is under construction, we hope to have it up and running toward the end of September, please look for notes coming home regarding this issue.
4. I would like to welcome the following new staff members to WIES:
a. Michelle Spiess - 1st Grade
b. Shyla Epler - 2nd Grade
c. Mandi Claussen - 2nd Grade
d. Diane Gonzales - 5th Grade
e. Sue Cessna - Speech
f. Sylvia McKee - Teaching Assistant
