Wyoming Indian High School not only provides academic skills for lifelong learning to ensure successful lives and prosperity, but offers strong Voc-Ed programs to help students compete for jobs in a rapidly changing world.

The focus of the Voc-Ed program is on academic and work-related skills and knowledge, using problem-posing, problem-solving and critical thinking that can be applied to a broad range of work and life situations.

Students can improve skill and competency levels in a variety of vocational areas including robotics, aviation, graphic design, machining, electrical, automotive mechanics, hydraulics, welding, construction and woodworking.

The integration of academic and vocational teaching is designed to encourage applied and project-based curriculum, and help students understand the nature and sequencing of planned work-place activity.

As the world changes, WIHS continually adapts its vocational/technical education curriculum by blending academic "college prep" education with the "hands-on, real-world" relevance of vocational/technical training - giving students new keys to higher-paying jobs.

We insist that students leaving this high school be equipped with the skills they need to perform the jobs a competitive economy is creating. We insist that our young people entering the work force meet the challenges of a more demanding job market.

We feel that employers and the nation will benefit from well-trained and well-prepared workers.
